What we collect, and why.
TokataHQ is a small team. We collect as little as we can, we use it only for what we say here, and we delete it when you ask.
Campaign signup
Joining #PutIgboInTech requires your name and email address. Country and role are optional. We use these details to register your interest and understand who wants to take part.
If you tick the optional updates box, we add you to the campaign email list. Joining and contributing both work without subscribing.
Contributions
We collect your name and email so we can follow up. Depending on the route you choose, we ask about a product problem, a source, a resource, testing, collaboration, or a personal story. Only fields for your selected route are submitted.
Test results, screenshots and recordings
When you test a product, you can attach a screenshot or screen recording. We use these files only to check the result, and we review them before they change anything in the tracker. Screenshots can show personal details, so please crop out anything private first. We will ask before publishing any file that shows you, your name or your account.
Where it goes
Our hosting provider’s form service processes submissions so the TokataHQ team can review them. We do not sell or rent your information, or use it for advertising. You can also contact hello@tokatahq.org directly.
A hidden anti-spam field is included in both forms. If it is filled in, the submission is treated as automated. Nothing else about you is recorded by it.
What we deliberately do not ask for
We never ask for financial account details, payment information, or government identification. If we ask creators about the cost of a captioning or discovery problem, an estimate is welcome and entirely voluntary. Please do not send us financial records.
Analytics
This site runs no analytics service and sets no tracking cookies. The pages contain named event hooks so that a future analytics tool could be connected, but those hooks do not send events to an analytics provider or store them after the page is closed. Search text and form contents are not included in analytics events.
Fonts and embedded content
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when the page loads. Video previews and embedded videos on the Updates page also make requests to YouTube. Its privacy terms apply to that content. Links to sources in the tracker and the directory open on other people's websites, and their own privacy terms apply once you are there.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for as long as the conversation is useful, and campaign signups until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.
Your choices
Email hello@tokatahq.org to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We will do it. You do not need to give a reason.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page. It was last updated in September 2026.
Community contributions and stories
Reports may include the product involved, what happened, its impact, and links to supporting material. We use these details to review evidence and inform our advocacy. Story submissions remain private during review. We seek permission before publishing a person’s name, photograph, quote, or story. Submitting a report does not subscribe you to campaign emails.
